Funding can be used for personal purposes, volunteer &service, business, medical, startups, and healing. The second version of the website was launched in 2012.
Fundraising is done mainly in 3 steps: creating a webpage, sharing funding requests as much as possible, and accepting donations accordingly. Funds can be accepted via PayPal, or debit or credit card. You are not required to pay any charges in the initial stages of your campaign, but once any amount is raised, around 4% of that will need to be paid to the company. You also end up paying 2.9% of the collected amount on average as processing fees. Social networking website Facebook is used as one of the platforms for fundraising.
